Peerless Small Batch Bourbon

My Notes
I picked up this bottle the same time I got the Single Barrel at the distillery in Louisville. This small batch bourbon is pretty one note, not very deep or complex.
With a nose of some sweetness of melon, vanilla and light wood and a palette of oak, cinnamona and some light vanilla this whiskey is pretty even as far as taste goes. The finish is some toasted oak and caramel. The proof being 109.4, you do get a little proof burn on the tongue, which makes this a great bottle to mix into some nice cocktails.
If you had a nice syrup and bitter combo, this would make a great bourbon old fashioned. I would also experiment with this with some fall flavors, like apple or maybe smores cocktails.

How to Taste
With your whiskey at room temperature, put the glass near your nose and close your eyes and inhale. What do
you smell?
Drink a sip, just enough to cover your tounge and swish it around front, left and right. then down the
hatch. What do you taste?
If it burns a little, maybe try to add a couple drops of water. Otherwise, try again - usually after the
initial burn, you may get some of the flavors you are looking for.
