Bardstown Collaborative Series Foursquare

My Notes
Once again, Bardstown hit the mark with a beautifully balanced bottle. This one is a great blend of 7 year old rye mixed with a touch of 17 year old bourbon. But its also been aged for 23 months in rum barrels, which tones down that rye and brings up a lot of the sweetness of the bourbon.
From their website, the Foursquare mashbill breaksdown like this:
On the nose it smells like banana and creme brule, with some sweetness and citrus. On the tongue its sweet and spicy from that rye. But also there is some coconut and gives some sense of a dark rum tropical drink. The finish starts quick and has notes of the citrus, rye spice and a hint of baked fruit.
For the price, this is only reccomended for someone who is really into rums and wants to try something a bit different. Its a great drink, but for the price, I had to drop it a point.
