Bardstown Origin Series Bottled In Bond

My Notes
Bardstown is one of my favorite distilleries right now, they are putting out some of the most balanced and intersting bottles. This is their origin series, bottled in bond and proofed up to 100, but 20% of the mashbill is wheat, so it rounds out the flavors and spice really well.
This is a nearly perfectly balanced bourbon, with scents of lemon peel, caramel and some vanilla. On the pallette its vanilla, cocoa, citrus/cinnamon, like a baked pie, and more lemon. It finished really nice with a rich butterscotch or toffee note that coats the mouth.
This is a great bottle for your home bar or for a more advanced bourbon drinker. The complexities of the mashbill really shine through on this and it would be a great gift for the price.

How to Taste
With your whiskey at room temperature, put the glass near your nose and close your eyes and inhale. What do
you smell?
Drink a sip, just enough to cover your tounge and swish it around front, left and right. then down the
hatch. What do you taste?
If it burns a little, maybe try to add a couple drops of water. Otherwise, try again - usually after the
initial burn, you may get some of the flavors you are looking for.
