James Gin Navy Strength Asian Parsnip
- October 27th, 2023

My Notes
Similar to the standard Asian Parsnip, this has juniper, pepper and sweet orange, but the increased proof makes all these flavors far more prominent.
I got a bit of celery salt on the pallete along with some sweet orange and the proof hit my throat. I liked the standard asian parsnip but the higher proof navy strength is brings out the flavors so much more. When mixed in a cocktail and you want to taste the spirit, this is the option to go with.
At the $70 price point, its a bit on the pricier side for a gin. If you are planning on picking up a few of these bottles - pick up a Navy strength.

How to Taste
With your whiskey at room temperature, put the glass near your nose and close your eyes and inhale. What do
you smell?
Drink a sip, just enough to cover your tounge and swish it around front, left and right. then down the
hatch. What do you taste?
If it burns a little, maybe try to add a couple drops of water. Otherwise, try again - usually after the
initial burn, you may get some of the flavors you are looking for.
