Kennay Farms Rye Whiskey Cask Strength

My Notes
This cask strength rye from Kennay Farms is far more complex at the 2 year mark than the rye aged at 7 mohths. I really like the Rye they make, so with an aged cask strength, I couldnt wait. I luckily found a few bottles for a really great price, under $20 bucks!
This is unlike the rye, there is some cherry on the nose and finish, but not so much on the sip itself. There is a huge amount of oak and leather and some orange citrus. On the finish cherry, wood and leather. A little bit of vanila pops in and out of the sip and finish too.
This is a best value if I ever saw one. This drinks like a complex bourbon, not a rye. Its spiced like a rye, but has huge character on the wood and tobacco notes. This is amust buy for the price.

How to Taste
With your whiskey at room temperature, put the glass near your nose and close your eyes and inhale. What do
you smell?
Drink a sip, just enough to cover your tounge and swish it around front, left and right. then down the
hatch. What do you taste?
If it burns a little, maybe try to add a couple drops of water. Otherwise, try again - usually after the
initial burn, you may get some of the flavors you are looking for.
